Reformer Instructor

Ember Wellness Studio is a boutique wellness sanctuary where movement is about more than exercise—it's about helping people build strength, confidence, and a sustainable practice that supports their whole life. Our intimate Reformer classes are intentionally limited to just four participants, allowing instructors to provide individualized attention in a welcoming, supportive environment.

We're looking for instructors who are passionate about movement, committed to continual growth, and excited to create meaningful connections with every client who walks through our doors.

Position Summary

As a Reformer Pilates Instructor, you'll lead safe, engaging, and thoughtfully programmed Reformer classes that embody Ember's philosophy of mindful movement and whole-body wellness. You'll help clients build strength, confidence, and body awareness while creating an exceptional experience that keeps them coming back.

Our instructors are educators, motivators, and community builders who understand that the experience is just as important as the workout.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Reformer Pilates classes according to the published studio schedule.

  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before each class to prepare equipment and welcome clients.

  • Deliver safe, effective, and engaging classes for clients of varying experience levels.

  • Provide individualized cueing, hands-on corrections (when appropriate), and exercise modifications.

  • Monitor clients throughout class to ensure proper alignment, control, and safe equipment use.

  • Check clients into class using Momence.

  • Process purchases when needed, including memberships, class packages, retail products, and gift cards.

  • Clean and sanitize Reformers and studio equipment after each class.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional studio environment.

  • Communicate client concerns, equipment maintenance needs, or studio issues to management promptly.

  • Represent Ember Wellness Studio with professionalism, warmth, and integrity.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Reformer Pilates certification from a recognized training organization

  • CPR certification

  • Professional liability insurance

  • Strong understanding of Pilates principles, functional movement, anatomy, and biomechanics.

  • Ability to safely teach clients with varying fitness levels and movement experience.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.

Preferred:

  • Experience teaching small-group Reformer Pilates classes.

  • Experience working with beginners as well as clients with common movement limitations or injuries.

  • Passion for continued education and professional development.

  • Alignment with Ember's philosophy of whole-body wellness and lifelong movement.

Onboarding + Training

New instructors will complete Ember's onboarding program, including:

  • 15 hours of personal practice and observation of Ember’s Reformer classes

  • 15 hours of student teaching

  • Studio orientation and operational training

  • Ongoing mentorship with Ember's Lead Pilates Instructor

  • Training in Ember's teaching philosophy, class standards, and client experience expectations
